From Taiwan
I got up at 4am to feed Nea, switched the TV on, so I won't fall back to sleep. There was a documentary about some young designers from Taiwan, their works are quite inspiring. I did a bit research today online. Here are some of my favorite:
This is a notebook, named 'Brick' by 'Urban Prefer'
Esquire 知足 (取名「知足」首先是取「知竹」的諧音) tea sets by 'The one'

This 'Polar Ice' ice tray is designed by Wu Tung Chin, the shape of the tray was inspired by the stones in the river
Esquire 知足 (取名「知足」首先是取「知竹」的諧音) tea sets by 'The one'
Also like the tableware: Blossom (一畝田-綻放)
I become a big fan of Aqua design: the farmer's calendar, the designer nio's notebook series, 'f' file books, bodytattooo postcards... it is so much fun to browse their website and check out their portfolio

Big brother 哥哥
It has been 9 days since Nea was born. This time, we are more relaxed and really enjoyed her first days.
Landon has been such a wonderful big brother, his reaction to Nea has 'surprised' us, he was not jealous as we worried, his love to her is so natural. He loves to kiss her and touch her so very gently. Every morning, he woke up and he would ask, where is Nea? I want to see Nea.
I have been a bit sentimental over Landon's feeling, I am glad he welcomed his little sister so well, but I felt guilty that I can't give him as much time and care as before, especially I am still recovering from the C section, there are many things I want to do but I can't right now. One day he woke up from his nap, wanted me to pick him up and I apologized to him, mama can't. He held my legs and started crying so hard...We held each other, both in tears, I kept telling him right now mama can't do some things because mama just gave birth to Nea but mama's love to him has not changed and will always love him.
Mama will always love you, both of you, forever and ever...

Nea
We are home now. It is so nice to be home, to be able to open the window, to breath the fresh air, to see Landon's natural love to Nea. Thank you all for your love and wishes, this is our Nea...

Count down
Today I had my last OB appointment before the baby's arrival. My weight has reached record high, it is so high I actually thought it's funny.
I still had icecream after lunch, soon I won't be allow to touch, drink or eat anything cold for one month. We Chinese have very strict (strange to the western point of view) postpartum care which I didn't follow when Landon was born, this time I promised my mum that I will obey...most of them... not all...
In the afternoon, the postman rang the door bell, there was a little brown box outside of our door with a cute sticker reads: Une Sardine à Rio
Thank you dear Justine, I really really love it. That is so kind of you to send us the softest, purest and sweetest baby sets all the way from France. She will be wearing them when she leaves the hospital, they will be her going home outfit and we will treasure them forever.
p.s. Will be checking into the hospital on Monday at 5.30AM, I am excited and a bit nervous too...

This is Q
This is Q
Yanyan got to see Q's smile through Q's wonderful mom's blog, she soon felt the special bond with this little soul. In the earlier months of Q's life and the first 20 years of Yanyan's life, they used to live in the same old city, southeast of China, next to the Yangtze River.
Q is wearing Yanyan's suspender pants and linen vest, she is such a chic bohemian, totally gives a new spirit to that outfit.
Much love to you, dear Q.
p.s. Q's mom took all these wonderful pictures.

Little something
I was organizing my study (here we go again, the nesting instinct) saw this piece of fabric I bought from China long time ago. I think people used to use those kind of fabric in the countryside for the wedding or make it for duvet covet but now is somehow back to fashion.
The fabric is soft and light and color is beautiful. I decided to make a little something for the baby, I tried to cut it asymmetrical to modernize it a bit and with quite a bit volume so it is easier to put on for the tiny body. I was planning to use this as her going home outfit after she leaves the hospital, but it could be a bit too big for her, I've already forgotten how tiny the new borns are. It might be like what my fact-based, sometimes too-honest Finnish husband said last night: She could swim inside. Thanks a lot my love!
oh, thanks Papier Mache, what a lovely surprise to see your post about my fall collection yesterday. I thought those cardigans looks familiar :)
