Love Linen

I am obsessed with linen right now,  most of our products in Suvi Ainoa are made from linen, I have bought yards and yards of linen fabrics that are waiting inside of our cabinets to be created into something simple and beautiful

Saw this linen towel from 2 or 3 things I know. Totally in love with its simplicity, had to get one for the summer park time

From Peru

I saw Kenza's post of nomad spirit during the weekend, it reminds me the innocent children I met in Peru. A so unforgettable trip we had before Landon was born.

When I was a teenage, I saw a TV program about the lake Titicaca, I was so fascinated by it and like many girls that time we all read the books by Sanmao, the wandering writer from Taiwan, for a while I 'believed' lake Titicaca was where I lived in my previous life.

Anyway, here are a few pictures I took in lake Titicaca, one with a brother and sister walking in their floating island

This is a boy we met at the foot of Taquile island, he was carrying the water for his school which is on the top of the island

These two lovely kids we met also in Taquile island, they were so curious about us yet so shy in the beginning

'window' shopping

I have not shopped for myself for a while. Nowadays whenever I shop, mainly are for my kid.  So I did a bit online 'window' shopping this morning.  Am a  big fan of Swedish labels, first time I discovered so many of them was in Helsinki ten , a wonderful concept store next to an infamous strip club in downtown Helsinki.

These are from Hope. I like the styling, the color, the cut... So simple and clean.

Thank you my new friends

I am really moved by Maia's post today. Like I wrote on her comment. The reason for me to start Suvi Ainoa is to share with people who also appreciate similar kind of beauty in life. I've never imaging to make loads money with Suvi Ainoa. Probably I won't  :) But doing something I enjoy and meeting wonderful people like you ladies means so much to me. Much love to you all. You should see the silly smile on my face now... Yanyan

Flower pot

One of the Iittala breakfast cups I ordered got broken during the shipping. I am thinking glue the handle back and turn it into a flower pot, now the question is, which flower should I pick?

I saw this jacket from Stella MacCartney for Gapkids on sale yesterday. Had to get it for Landon. And that is the size for 3 years old. Is the clothes size so off or my little man is too big.

He didn't want it first, until I let he to look at himself from the mirror. Then he said: Hao ( 'fine' in Chinese)

Little man

This morning when I read FeiAn's comment on my last post, I was thinking, so true, Landon is a big boy  now. He grows so fast, he is not a baby anymore. He is my little man now.  He is talking, singing, dancing, negotiating with me all the time...

The first picture was taken the day after Landon was born. I looked so exhausted after a tough labor and he looked so Chinese that time, wear that pumpkin hat given by the hospital as a gift( he was born on the Halloween night)

The other picture we took just a few days ago after we return back from China, waiting in front of my computer to skype with grandparents.

Back home

We are back after a month in China. I haven't lived in China for over 15 years. But that is always home for me. Sometimes I do feel like a stranger there. There are things I love so much there, there are also things I find it hard to stand. But that is my home and that is where I am from.

China always makes me so restless for some reason. I tried very hard to find peace and quiet there, but it was my heart that is not peaceful and quiet whenever I was there.

Spring is beautiful in Nanjing, the flowers are blooming and the trees are green.
